“You failed as a reporter” “It’s not about the viewers. It’s about what the CEO and GM reads.” So, they are implicitly admitting they are full of crap, and it’s not about being a true, objective, honest reporter, but more about sucking up to the CEO/GM/etc and making sure they don’t get their feelings hurt or their desired agenda/narrative interfered with. I would argue she actually succeeded as a reporter for not undermining her journalistic integrity just to make the bosses happy.
