Hunter Biden, the son of President Biden, is reportedly ready to testify publicly, according to his attorney, following a subpoena for his testimony issued by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer. The subpoena also included James Biden, the president’s brother, and Rob Walker, a business associate.
The Kentucky representative, Comer, issued the subpoenas as part of an impeachment inquiry. Other individuals requested for transcribed interviews include James Biden’s wife, Sara Biden; President Biden’s daughter-in-law, Hallie Biden, who was Beau Biden’s widow and later involved romantically with Hunter; Hallie Biden’s older sister, Elizabeth Secundy; and Hunter Biden’s wife, Melissa Cohen.
Additionally, the committee requested a transcribed interview from Tony Bobulinski, a former business associate of Hunter Biden and participant in Sinohawk Holdings.
Watch the latest video at foxnews.comHunter Biden’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, confirmed receiving the subpoena and criticized Comer for a “partisan” investigation. He said, “This is yet another political stunt aimed at distracting from the glaring failure of Rep. Comer and his MAGA allies to prove a single one of their wild and now discredited conspiracies about the Biden family.”
However, Lowell added, “Hunter is eager to have the opportunity, in a public forum and at the right time, to discuss these matters with the Committee.”
Lowell also wrote a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson demanding that he prevent Comer, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, and Ways & Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith from continuing their “partisan” investigations into the Bidens.
Comer, Jordan, and Smith are leading the House impeachment inquiry against President Biden. House Speaker Mike Johnson supports the inquiry, alleging that the president has engaged in a “cover-up” and lied to the American people about his knowledge or benefit from his son’s business dealings.
The subpoenaed and voluntary testimony will likely contribute to the larger impeachment inquiry as Republicans seek to determine whether President Biden abused his office or committed any type of high crime or misdemeanor.
Comer had previously subpoenaed personal and business bank records of both Hunter Biden and James Biden in September, which have revealed new lines of questioning regarding whether President Biden knew about or was involved in his family’s business dealings.
