Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) rips the process by which the omnibus was created and will likely be passed.
Chip Roy, a Representative from Texas, spoke out against the current state of the House of Representatives in a five minute address. He accused the body of being a “complete sham” and “fraud” being perpetrated on the American people. He criticized the lack of open debate and ability to offer amendments, citing that the last time an amendment was offered in open debate was May 2016.
He also spoke out against the inclusion of pork projects and spending money that the country does not have. He stated that the House of Representatives is “broken” but that his colleagues on the other side of the aisle “do not care.” He called for a return to regular order and for the body to do the work of the people rather than prioritizing personal agendas.
