Trump administration awarding $35M in housing grants for to human trafficking survivors

One of my favorite things, and the reason I first started to actually follow President Trump was his role in stopping human trafficking.

The more I learned about it, the sicker I felt. Knowing that it has been happening behind the scenes and often involved people in both Hollywood and Washington DC. With the arresting of Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, it further solidified my faith in President Trump.

Today (Tuesday August 4, 2020) The Trump Administration announced it will distribute over $35 million in grants to human trafficking survivors.

Attorney General William Barr, presidential adviser Ivanka Trump, and other officials will announce the details surrounding this during the afternoon roundtable event about the Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Human Trafficking.

These grants will be provided by the Office for Victims of Crime, a branch that’s within the Justice Department’s Office of Justice Programs.

The victims will be receiving the grants to be used for counseling, finding permanent housing or receive job training.

Ivanka has made human trafficking a major concern of hers, citing how the pandemic has forced trafficking survivors to live with their offenders because of the stay-at-home orders.

“The administration has heard these concerns and is responding by awarding leading nonprofit organizations the necessary funding to ensure that survivors have a stable place to live,”

Ivanka Trump said in a statement.

Seventy-three organizations will share the grants across 33 different states.

Ivanka Trump said that the organizations receiving the Justice Department’s grants “are on the frontlines of this fight, adding that they ensure “survivors across our country are afforded safe and stable housing and empowered with the support and resources they need to rebuild their lives.”
