What Would A Million Person Mars Colony Look Like?
For anyone who says something along these lines We should help Earth instead of going to space, The problem isn’t money, we have more than enough, but you get diminishing returns at some point.
And I’d argue we largely have the technology needed. Further utilization would lead to more development and innovation. So that’s not the problem either.
The problem is the lack of long-term policy, and an economically viable plan. It wouldn’t matter if we strip out the entire space program, because that wouldn’t help anything.
Colonizing space isn’t mutually exclusive with reducing our impact on Earth, we can – and most likely will – do both. But we need better leaders and more entrepreneurs to make the change down here happen.
